But, technically speaking, if you want to get a shortened URL, you could simply try to get a [dot] tk name. But, there will be ads at the top. The best domain redirection service I've found is co.nr which simply points visitors to your site. It will look something like "amsachatterboxv2.co.nr" which is much better than the niceboard.com subdomain you have now. If you do get a domain name, though, you should know PHP, FTP, MYSQL, and etc. If you don't, then a domain name won't really help you.

It shouldn't be "AMSAchatter" or anything with "chat", because that will get blocked by the firewall.

With co.nr you can easily change the link, and it's better, so that people don't have to mesmorize/bookmark your new URL. You'll just always have one.

Well, since they're not large flash banners, yes, but, if they ever became large and garish flash banners, then I doubt everyone would be able to easily pass over them.
